Plas Dolau Country Estate

It was so lovely to be greated as we arrived and offered a cuppa to settle in with, I’ll recommend anyone to stay here.

Pros: This is a wonderful clean simple place to stay, warm comfortable rooms, clean bathrooms and so quiet.

Pros: When we booked we were planning to drive. We changed our mind and travelled by train. We were pleasantly surprised that the property was only £10 by taxi from the station. Sam and Beth were very welcoming. We had an UberEats delivery on the evening we arrived, again very pleased how convenient it was.

Cons: We liked everything about the stay.

Pros: Sam and Beth were fantastic hosts, breakfast (poached eggs on toast) was delicious, and the rooms were very clean (I clean professionally for holiday homes and was very impressed). Sam offered advice on beaches to visit and nothing was too much trouble.

Cons: After much though, the only thing I was disappointed in was that I had to get home to work and couldn’t stay longer!

An overnight stay. Welcoming owner who was very friendly and helpful. Everything we needed and very good breakfast .

Pros: The location was good, a wooded site in a quiet spot. Very peaceful. We enjoyed our breakfast - delicious poached eggs on toast, cereals, yoghurt and fruit. Our host was friendly and welcoming. The lemon drizzle cake & tea on arrival went down a treat! Helpful suggestion on where to eat for our evening meal. Good communication via email before our stay when we asked questions about room options.

Pros: The staff were great , breakfast was lovely and the room was lovely with plenty of space.

Cons: Being full of arthritis the bath was hard for me to use, it was a lovely big bath but to deep for me to get out of

Cons: The shower was complicated and there was no means of getting the bath plug to release the water.

Pros: Plas Dolau Country Estate is a truly special place with so much to love. The setting is peaceful and surrounded by beautiful Welsh countryside — ideal for relaxing, enjoying nature, or exploring nearby Aberystwyth. The estate has a historic charm, with characterful buildings and spacious grounds that give it a warm, welcoming feel. The room was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully furnished with everything we needed. There was plenty of space to relax, and the overall atmosphere was quiet and restful. We also appreciated how well-kept the communal areas were — everything felt cared for and maintained to a high standard. Another highlight was the sense of calm and escape the property offers, while still being just a short drive from the coast and town. It’s the perfect balance of rural tranquillity and convenient location. Most of all, we loved the warmth and hospitality of the hosts — Sam & Beth clearly put a lot of love into the property, and it really shows.
