Penybont Barn

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Pros: The location was s brilliant for families and walkers. We loved the barns coziness and the walks around the area were great for our dogs.

Cons: We were told a few days before going there would be no tree or decorations even though we had booked for Christmas. We understand not everyone celebrates Christmas and we did take what we could, but this would have been more useful to know upon booking so we could have planned our stay with this in mind as we have children and this is a big thing for them.

Pros: Very comfortable house and well kitted with everything we needed. Brilliant location in centre of village, great pub opposite and short walk to Lakeside for dog walks.

Cons: Nothing.

Fabulous barn in the heart of Llangorse

Pros: We have stayed at Penybont Barns last year and would book again. Its got everything you need for a great stay, we were 3 ladies and 2 dogs. The Barn is immaculately clean, great location with a Pub/restaurant opposite and the Castle Inn just a two min walk to the left of the property which was super. Approx 10 minute walk from Llangorse Lake and an easy drive to Crickhowell and Abergavenny. The barn has everything you need for a short stay or an extended break. Dishwasher, fridge, freezer and washing machine. Highly recommended, the owners are lovely so easy to communicate with and its easy to book in with a key lock box outside - fab.

Overall, a nice property in a lovely area to explore the Brecon Beacons and further afield.

Pros: Great Location - very nice village with excellent volunteer run shop and coffee, 2 good pubs, especially The Castle, and walking distance of a lovely lake. The parking by the property is a definite bonus as the roads can get crowded with cars.

Cons: We had an intermittent problem with the heating - the smart thermostat turned out very difficult to master and the bedroom remained uncomfortably cold on several occasions. But the hosts did respond quickly and arranged for someone to come to the property to help sort the issue.

Great stay would really appreciate that earlier check in

Pros: Great facilities, clean comfortable, great beds and bedrooms, great location. Very happy we booked

Cons: The usual book in time is 17.00, we requested an early check in which was agreed for 15.00, if we could not have booked in early thats a huge chunk of your first day gone

Fabulous stay in Penybont Barn!

Pros: Great accommodation, exceptionally clean and well appointed, in a lovely location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return next year.

Pros: The house is excellent, a very good size with parking and everything you could need. Dog friendly. Its best point is its location though, centre of the village with two excellent pubs easy access to walks from the doorstep as well as the brecons and black mountains

Beautiful cosy property in quiet location

Pros: The hosts were very good with communication, giving excellent instructions on how to get the keys (with pictures) and giving helpful local information. There is a pub across the road (The Red Lion) which is recently renovated with a new Gastropub menu. It isn’t open at the beginning of the week but we had a delicious and large dinner there during our stay. The village is quiet, the property is next to the road but there’s barely any traffic, the only sound at night was the stream at the side of the barn. Everything was very clean, lots of facilities for cooking and a lovely shower. Beds were comfortable too and the sitting room was very cosy.

Cons: Only small thing was the driveway running up the side of the property belongs to the neighbouring house so there were people coming and going which meant a little bit of noise outside in the mornings and being aware you could be seen in the bedrooms if the curtains were open!

Pros: Great location, with some lovely local walks. loved the garden area on a sunny evening it was perfect for sitting out with the dogs.

Great location, cosy country cottage with everything you need

Pros: Great location with a great restaurant over the road and exceptional village pub round the corner. The cottage is cosy and comfortable, with a gorgeous little stream running alongside. It was a great base for our holiday.

Cons: I think the towels and bed linen could do with a refresh. We also didn't realise that the cottage shares a driveway with the neighbours, which wasn't ideal as we took our dog with us and really wanted a fully enclosed garden area (he has a habit of running after cars!)
