Pros: The situation was perfect for exploring local attractions. The staff were so friendly & helpful. The bar with a log fire was spot on. Evening meal and breakfast was tasty & portion sizes were generous. The rooms were basic, but clean and tidy & the beds were very comfy. Looking forward to a return visit.

Excellent value, beautiful surroundings, staff who went above & beyond expectations

Pros: Staff were very personable, went the extra mile to ensure I was comfortable, well fed and informed I was the only guest on a Sunday night but that had no impact on teh service and attention I received.

Cons: Nothing to recommend - it was all to my satisfaction

Home from home

Pros: A lovely family run hotel in a local village. Open fire in the bar was a treat after a bitterly cold day in December. Food was great, pool table and good bar with friendly staff made our night. Bedroom was lovely, clean and so comfortable, we slept like babies! A real home from home even though its a hotel, once through the doors you never felt like it was a hotel. Thank you to everyone and those we met, absolutely lovely x

Cons: That we could only stay the one night.

Comfortable, friendly, great value...5 stars

Pros: From being greeted at the hotel entrance by the lovely landlady to the laughs and feeling so welcome at dinner...which was proper tasty, the couple who run the George borrow are just super. They are friendly, funny and attentive. There's a pool table, darts board and a roaring fire which in this weather is so very welcomed. The room was comfortable, the shower hot, the kettle was a lovely bonus and the biscuits yummy. Then the breakfast! Yum yum.. completely tailored to our preferences, served in a room with big windows looking toward the mountain. Just beyond the garden is the most beautiful waterfall. Lovely stay
