Tranquil getaway near Brecon Beacons

A beautiful gem

Pros: I had a beautiful stay. The accommodation is so spacious. I loved the open fire and the views are beautiful. It was such a peaceful way to spend my birthday. The decor is in keeping with the age of the building- traditional and lovely. A lovely area to walk, or just relax. The host is lovely, he even left me a bottle of wine for my birthday! Very thoughtful.

Palatial and somewhat unique. I loved it!

Pros: Wow. Even having read the reviews, I still found this place PALATIAL!. In fact, I felt I was rattling round it like an extra out of 'The Shining'😂😂 Big, high ceiling rooms, a sense of history with the faded grandeur, but very comfortable. A fabulous, modern, well equipped kitchen. Shower a tad measly, but adequate. And a great fireplace!! just perfect for settling back after long walks. Great communication from host. I rarely give 10/10, but this place deserved it.

Cons: I liked it all and would definitely book again if/when in the vicinity.

Pros: I love the remoteness of the property location, whilst at the same time, an hour's walk, 5 min drive or 15 cycle journey to the village. It's quiet, peaceful and perfect for those lovers of the natural world.

Cons: The end of my holiday!

Just what we needed.

Pros: It was spectacular inside, so beautifully furnished . Well equipped and comfortable in glorious countryside with a wild and interesting garden.

Cons: The bathroom, while serviceable, could do with an upgrade.

Pros: All of it .. character and every little detail and item you needed was there

Unique property

Pros: So incredibly spacious! A lot of rooms and space for the money.. Amazing views from every window. A dated but unique apartment with some nice original features and furniture...yet all you will need modern comforts. Bedding and towels smelt great. Good communication with Host.

Cons: Despite such a beautiful location, I would have loved a proper outside space to sit out in . Narrow terrace which is being renovated, so should look great when done. When arrived, we didn't get the wow factor until we stepped inside.

Pros: I recently stayed at this Tranquil gateway near Brecon Beacons National Park, and it was everything I had hoped for—and more. Tucked away in a quiet location, the place offers the perfect balance between peaceful seclusion and easy access to the stunning Welsh countryside. From the moment I arrived, I felt a deep sense of calm. The space is thoughtfully decorated, clean, and cosy, with all the amenities you’d need for a comfortable stay. Whether enjoying a slow morning with coffee by the window or curling up after a long day of walking, it felt like a true home away from home. The proximity to Brecon Beacons is a huge bonus—beautiful hikes, waterfalls, and scenic drives are just minutes away. Yet after a day of exploring, coming back to the stillness of this place made the experience even more special. Perfect for friends trip, couples, or anyone needing to recharge in nature. I left feeling rested, grateful, and already thinking about when I can return.

Cons: There was nothing that I did not like.

Tranquil and quirky. We loved it.

Pros: There were lots of large rooms with high ceilings & the views from the bedroom & kitchen were stunning. We loved everything about our stay. The host has presented it beautifully & we couldn’t have asked for more. We loved the history of the property & the area is amazing. This property is a real gem. It was great that we were able to take our dog with us & she particularly loved sleeping by the Aga in the kitchen, while we enjoyed cooking on it. The lounge is especially beautiful. The whole place makes you feel relaxed. We loved it. Thank you.

Cons: A tiny suggestion was to have one slightly smaller saucepan, but this is minor.
