A beautiful place when you need to get away and have peace and relaxation

Pros: Breakfast was good. We ate in the dining room. Had a lovely view over the valley. Watched the morning mist dissipate. A lovely historic house (a listed building - mix of Georgian and Medieval) on a hill. Gave me hints of Jane Austin. So I played music from the film Sense and Sensibility as I watched the mist drift, leaving droplets on the grass. Hosts were so helpful and kind. House tastefully decorated. Lovely rooms. Drawing room had a large fire, comfy furniture, very cosy with a glass of wine. Hosts made evening dinner for us. Food was gorgeous. We used this house to visit the Welsh coast and lower Snowdonia. It is out of the way. You need a car. The nearest village is Llanbrynmair.

A very nice stay, very accommodating and couldn't have done more to make us comfortable.

Pros: The breakfast was very good, plenty on the plate and all fresh from butchers and local suppliers. And they accommodated very well for us the night we arrived and we hadn't eaten, they russeld up steak, chips and all the trimmings for us. Very kind.

Cons: The pillows were quite lumpy and the hot tap in the bathroom was loose, otherwise it functioned perfectly and was a very nice stay.

A place of tranquility to explore Wales

Pros: Beautiful, peaceful location, great as a base to go exploring mid Wakes. Martin & Rob are fantastic hosts & gave me some great suggestions of places to go & even which routes to take to get the most of the views (which were beautiful). Honestly cannot fault anything, I’d definitely go back!

Cons: Nothing! It was all fab!!!

Pros: It was awesome, from the warm welcome to all the help and advice. Both Martin and Robin were great. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast was great with delicious local ingredients. But my son does like avocado with his bacon and once they knew, they surprised him on the 2nd morning with his favourite, which was a wonderful treat. Great hosts, with so much knowledge and advice about the local area.

Pros: The ambience, the inside renovations were beautiful. Very very relaxing and quiet.

Cons: It felt a bit sad that the renovations had not yet reached the outside as eventually it would have looked stunning. Same with the garden area, so much work to do for them. Some guests may be disappointed in this as it's appearance outside looks poor but personally I didn't mind as its completely understandable. I would return despite this

Unexpected luxury and our hosts just wanted us to feel looked after.

Pros: Super clean luxury and very attentive and interesting hosts. Great company at long table. We had lots of happy talk.

Cons: Work in progress outside.

Good comfortable single night stay and breakfast.

Pros: Large comfortable bedroom and bathroom. Good breakfast (included in fair price). Good, friendly owners and service. Within a small mansion (with 14 bedrooms, though only 4 rented out). Very niclely furnished and decorated throughout (ornaments, animal heads, pictures etc.). Large cosy drawing room.

Cons: A little remote - at the end of a long track through a farmer's field full of sheep. However, did have a good view of the countryside and hills and ideal if you are looking for a quiet, remote stay.
