Pros: Location is absolutely incredible, beautiful views, very quiet. The cottage is well set up and well equipped. Internet is good and TV set up means you can easily log into your subscriptions. Patio is lovely, shame we didn't have the weather to sit out much! Great views of some aeroplanes on the mach loop. Easy to drive into Machynlleth and surrounding areas.
Cons: Parking is a bit tricky , you can't really park anywhere without annoying someone, path to the cottage is also hard to find. You need to go down the small side road next to the shop opposite the pub (maybe the owners could add better directions to the booking system). The shop put a mildly passive aggressive note in the window to not park outside if you are staying in a holiday let. Getting to the cottage isn't ideal if you have any mobility issues too. As others have said, cottage would benefit from a deep clean - lots of dust and cobwebs and the windows need cleaning too. The downstairs bedroom smells a little damp but it does improve with the window open and heating on. The bed is also very creaky - we probably should have slept in the upstairs bedroom! Just a few tweaks would make this cottage amazing!!

A wonderful cottage, peace personified. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily stay again.
Pros: Absolutely outstanding property. Super quiet (apart from the odd fast jet) Exceptionally well designed and modern. Everything you could need including an enclosed garden. Spotlessly clean inside.
Cons: Nothing to really dislike but important information for others: There is no parking near the property, even for dropping off luggage it’s a good 25 metre, uneven walk. You then need to park on the main road about 100 metres away. This isn’t made clear on the listing but important to those with limited mobility. The layout is less suited for families with young children. The main bedroom is downstairs, the other bedroom, bathroom and living room is upstairs but the stairs are open (nothing to stop a child from falling from a height), there are handrails so potentially unsuitable for small children. The same could be said for the garden where a younger child could fall over the edge due to how the fence is designed. Not a criticism but again should be highlighted to others. If I’m being super critical the outside windows really needed cleaning.

An incredibly relaxing stay in a beautiful part of Wales.
Pros: Gorgeous location and very well set up to enjoy the outside area, but equally cosy in-doors. We really appreciated the TV set up. The surrounding countryside is breathtakingly beautiful.
Cons: There's nothing the hosts can do about this but it would have been great to have parking available - although there was plenty of roadside parking. There were a lot of midges when we stayed so net screens over the windows and main door would have been useful.

Stunning views, quiet and would go again. But cleaners need replacing.
Pros: Stunning location, comfy with amazing views and is super quiet. House is very nice and had everything you could need for a lovely trip away. There is a lovely little shop on the corner of the road, 1 min walk away.
Cons: The house we generally clean and nice. but the cleaners are neglecting things as the floors and stairs looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a very long time, a quick wipe proved this.. Dead bugs or house flies on the walls, ceiling and windows ledges. And huge lumps of dust/fluff behind or under things. This was not a massive negative but it let's down what is an amazing place. One thing to note is the size of the twin room, it is very small, barely fitting in 2 single beds. Would not recommend 2 adults sharing that. Parking is limited but a quick walk from the main road is easy.

Wonderful base to explore the area around Machynlleth.
Pros: The cottage was tucked away from the road with wonderful views across the valley.
Cons: The stairs are steep and a little precarious, but this is the nature and character of some old buildings. If booking, you need to be aware of the steep stairs.

Great House, just a shame about the parking and company it is managed by.
Pros: Lovely little house in beautiful location. With stunning views. The back garden is really nice, we liked what the owners have done here. This property would be really good on a week day stay with the jets flying out back i would imagine, but we did not get to see any of this, unfortunately.
Cons: Booked this property as it is advertised with parking from the first view, but that is incorrect as we found out after booking by reading more reviews. We did request a refund within 1 hour of booking with sykes cottages, but they where very useless at responding or even dealing with our request of a refund and where straight forward saying no and not being sympathetic, or having any understanding that we had 3 motorbikes and it was a genuine mistake booking it as we have motorbikes that needed to be parked at the property for obvious reasons. All they stated was it says a description is on our website so we cant refund, but i did not book through there website so how am i to know what it states on there when booked via booking.com. So, for that reason, i would not book anything that is linked with Sykes cottages ever again!!! So, concluding my review after our stay, the parking is not good here as the house is tucked away from any road. We ended up parking our motorbikes a short walk away from the house and out of site which we were not happy about. I'd imagine if you had a car, you would have to park on the road even further away from the property as spaces are minimal and very limited. Welcome note that you scan on arrival states you are provided with a starter pack of tea, coffee and sugar, but the pots in the kitchen were empty, so that does not meet what is mentioned in here. Other than this, there's not much else i could fault with the property.

Superb with incredible views
Pros: The whole property was immaculately kept and the renovations done to a very high standard. Clean throughout and very well furnished with the kitchen having all the necessary pots/pans etc along with kettle, oven, microwave, fridge etc.. also sone bits and pieces that had been left such as salt, pepper, tea bags!! The local pub which is less than 2 minutes walk is very friendly and good basic pub food, but also very close to the local town which had many more pubs and cafes to choose from. HIGHLY recommend staying here
Cons: Absolutely nothing except perhaps the single beds could do with a SLIGHTLY more comfortable mattress but this by no means detracted from such a fabulous place to stay. The biggest downside was only staying for 2 nights!!

It was good, I would do it again.
Pros: Location and view were great. You can enjoy the private terrace as you wish.
Cons: The terrace was not so good on hot and sunny days, no shade at all. So you can't fully enjoy the sun. On top of that, the house becomes extremely hot as well. Access to house is difficult, even if you park your car to the nearest location, there is some lifting and shifting required. If you are not lucky to find a space (which I couldn't) you need to park your car to a distance.
