River Cottage

Wonderful house and excellent host.

Pros: The property is just lovely and has all the small details of a luxury hotel. Our room was wonderful and the bed very comfy. Susie the host was excellent help and normally responded to any messages within minutes, answering all our questions and queries.

Cons: Property was excellent, nothing we didn’t like - although it’s in a quiet location, but if that’s what you’re looking for then it’s ideal.

Pros: Beautiful place, wonderful surroundings. Really impressed with Shrewsbury. Great walking. Cottage was perfect. Everything you need for a great holiday.

Wonderful except from the dog issues

Pros: Fab location. Perfect for a quiet getaway. Peace. Lovely church next door. Close to Wales.

Cons: Not really dog friendly. And excessive charges. No mention beforehand that dogs not allowed on the sofa (bring my own throws) or to go upstairs! I appreciate you want to keep things nice but you can’t just expect a dog who normally sleeps in a bedroom to suddenly sleep downstairs on its own. Esp if like mine she is elderly and cannot see or hear. There is a £50 cleaning charge built into the price which alone should cover the extra cleaning needed. Then to try and charge £40 for a two night stay on top for the dog is daylight robbery. However the owner agreed to drop it to £25 which is far more reasonable. If you don’t really like dogs in a property then don’t have them.

Pros: Fantastic location, so quiet just bird song all around. Cottage quaint had everything you need.

Cons: Obviously it is old and in the country, so had to do a sweep to get spiders away, I don't think anyone had been in before us for a while so they had built up.

Short stay. Enjoyable and contact from the host was perfect.

Pros: Brilliant quiet location. Well presented and clean. Nice touches like biscuits and wine on arrival. Wish o took my fishing gear.

Cons: No dishwasher but that’s hardly a dealbreaker.

The most perfect cottage in a perfect location

Pros: Everything! Absolutely perfect .The location, the stunning cottage , the grounds ! The peace and quiet, friendly locals , the most beautiful church behind the cottage and even the visits from the herd of young cows every day ! Inside River Cottage the decor and furnishings perfect too . The garden and land fenced off for the dogs , a plus too The most beautiful cottage ever , we didn't want to leave

Pros: Location was fantastic. The weather had been awful so lots of flooding but Susie had prewarned us in a message so no nasty surprises.Beautifully kept old cottage. The entire cottage was well presented,comphy,fully equipped for us and the dogs with complementary tea/coffee and a bottle of wine etc which went down great for new years .Slept rearly well in comphy bed

A beautiful peaceful and tranquil setting in a beautiful cottage, 10 out of 10.

Pros: Location is so peaceful and tranquil, beautiful setting. The owners go the extra mile to make your stay feel that bit more special. Could not recommend this property high enough, it was absolutely fantastic and will definitely be returning.
