The Cottage at Sychnant Farm

Perfect cosy stay!

Pros: We loved the location as a base for our new years trip! The cottage was warm and cosy. Perfect for us and our 2 year old. The owners were very helpful. Would recommend and come back to stay again!

Comfortable, cosy, and full of charm

Pros: The cottage was wonderfully cosy and had all the modern comforts you could wish for. It was very well equipped, spotlessly clean, and lovely and warm. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable - we slept brilliantly every night. Faye was a fantastic host and had clearly put so much thought into making our stay special. The Christmas decorations added such a festive, homely touch, and the welcome treats were a really thoughtful surprise — the cookies were absolutely delicious! The location was exactly what we were looking for: peaceful and quiet, yet just a short drive from the village and within easy reach of the Brecon Beacons. Unfortunately, the high winds meant we couldn’t explore as much as we’d hoped, but that simply gave us the perfect excuse to snuggle up by the fire instead. We would love to return in the spring to enjoy the nearby walks and scenery properly.

Cons: These are very minor points in what was otherwise a lovely stay. The internet connection was quite slow (around 3Mb/s), which made streaming a bit challenging, especially as there’s no live TV. Additionally, the sofa was slightly uncomfortable, as we could feel the springs beneath the cushions. Overall, a really charming place that we’d happily recommend and hope to visit again.

Pros: The comfort, facilities and general ambience were exceptional.

Cons: I’m not sure we expected the cottage to be quite so isolated and, had the weather been worse, we could have been in a bit of a pickle. It is certainly not in, or even very near, Talgarth. However, at a different time of year and, had we not been up and down the hills to attend Hay Festival events, the location would have been perfect for walking.

Well presented and clean cottaged

Pros: The cottage exceeded expectations, it was very spacious and beautifully decorated. Everywhere was so clean and well presented. The bed was very comfy! Lots of stuff equipment, utensils and warm drink supplies for us to use throughout our stay. Brilliant and friendly hosts, very considerate and thoughtful. Would love to come back!

Amazing cottage

Pros: The cottage was amazing, super clean and had everything we needed in it. Faye and Rhys were super friendly and easy to contact if we needed anything. The bed was so comfortable, with a lovely hot shower, logs supplied for the fire, freshly made cake on arrival. Great location peaceful and easy to explore lots of areas from.

Pros: Wonderful location for walking and such a cosy, well equipped cottage to come back.to. We couldn't have been better looked after.

Wonderful place for a couple’s get-away!

Pros: Great facilities, spacious, very peaceful and quiet, clean and comfortable

Cons: The location is quite remote, which is great for peace and quiet, but not so easy to get to

Pros: Superb location for walking up onto the hills; cosy, warm, comfortable accommodation; friendly, helpful hosts; had thoughtful extras to make our stay feel more special. Perfect.

Pros: Very well equipped and comfortable in a beautiful quiet location with walks from the door. Talgarth has some nice shops and a lovely mill cafe.
