Brilliant apartment in a lovely, quirky little town

Pros: The apartment was so warm and cosy, we didn't really need to use the log burner but it too was extremely effective and added to the ambience. Rooms were spacious and well furnished. Having 2 bathrooms was a real bonus, especially the bath and separate shower in the ensuite. Nice and close to the town's amenities too with plenty of parking space which is unusual for Bishop's Castle. A nice touch was Adrian, the host, calling us to check we hadn't left a phone charger (we hadn't) - but some hosts wouldn't have bothered.

Cons: A very minor point but we could have done with more than 3 teaspoons - other cutlery, crockery and pans were plentiful!

Excellent accommodation which we will be returning to

Pros: The property was spotlessly clean, comfortable and very spacious. Everything you might need was there including two boxes full of board games for the potential rainy day. The main bedroom has a door leading to a balcony with table and chairs which I would imagine would be lovely to have a coffee/breakfast on in the warmer months. There was plenty of room to park the cars which was a real bonus as parking in Bishops Castle is always at a premium. Adrian was a lovely host and we felt well looked after. We were so impressed with the accommodation that we have booked again for next year.

Cons: The bedroom windows had blinds as well as curtains which was great as they kept most of the light out but the door in the main bedroom didn't have one so if I was being picky I would suggest that was added.

Pros: Great location, just a very short walk from the town / village centre. Good sized living room. Bathroom in the double room was bigger than the main bathroom. Met the owner when we arrived and he gave us some food tips about the local area. Overall, great accomodation, would recommend and would happily stay again.

Cons: Tiny niggle, but the toaster triggered the smoke alarm several times (even though we didn't burn the toast). We solved it by having the extractor fan on at the same time.

Pros: Friendly caring owner. Location. Stove was lovely.

Cons: Heating not easy to manage (turn down) but I think this was partly due to a power cut affecting the timer. Not a big problem though.

Very enjoyable few days, staying in good value comfortable accommodation, in wonderful countryside

Pros: It was self catering, for which the facilities were fine, but we ate out every night. The accommodation was simple, good value, had everything we needed (good beds and showers), quiet, and good location for the town centre. Bishop's Castle is an excellent centre to explore the surrounding area of natural beauty

Cons: Nothing really. Tight entrance for car off the road, but manageable

It was exactly right for a short spontaneous visit. A lovely town with great pubs and countryside.

Pros: The very pleasant setting, very comfortable beds and sofa, lots of storage - even though we didnt need much. We also liked: having 2 bathrooms, lots of local information, and being very close to two excellent places to eat with exceptional beer.

Cons: There wasnt anything we didnt like. (There isnt much room to eat at the table, which would have been small for a cooked full meal.)
