Penny Black Apartment

Great stay, convenient to all the facilities of a market town and walking in beautiful countryside.

Pros: When you enter the property everything was clean, modern, well presented and beautifully furnished. The host was excellent, very responsive to our messages, made us feel very welcome and left us a selection of lovely local produce. Thank you

Cons: Passing traffic could be heard from the front bedroom

Pros: Good amenities, each room had a bathroom, and welcome gifts. Very good communication. We'd be happy to come back.

Lovely apartment in an excellent location.

Pros: Communication from Phoebe was excellent. Lovely apartment with very convenient location. The lock box containing the keys was tricky to open. It needed more than one pair of hands. The apartment was nicely decorated and well equipped. We received some lovely local food items as a welcome, which was very much appreciated. The showers were excellent. We also very much appreciated the provision of 2 floor standing fans as the weather was very hot during our stay. All the basics such as washing up liquid, salt & pepper, dishwasher tablets, toilet paper and kitchen roll were provided as well as shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in the bathrooms. The bed and sofas were comfortable. The apartment is conveniently located only a short walk from several shops, cafes, pubs and takeaways. Kington is an excellent base for walkers.

Cons: The car parking space was ok for us as we only have a small car, but could be tricky with a large car, especially if other cars in the car park or in the yard outside. The key box was a little difficult to use. It required more than one pair of hands. The location of the crockery (on a high shelf) was difficult for me to reach, but no problem for my husband who is tall. There was quite a lot of noise from the road at the front of the building, but no fault of the apartment.

Lovely stay in beautiful accommodation

Pros: The accommodation was lovely with a gorgeous selection of treats. The rooms and facilities were lovely and it was great to have on site parking plus extras such as dishwasher/ washing machine. We were in a great location to get to Hay Festival. There were helpful amenities nearby.

Cons: I would have liked a recycling bin as I felt uncomfortable putting everything in general waste. A bathroom bin for hygiene products would have been helpful. The windows road side let in a lot of noise but it was quiet at the back,

Absolutely recommend for a lovely stay in a beautiful apartment.

Pros: A lovely bright sunny apartment, recently refurbished and beautifully decorated. Everything supplied for a very comfortable stay and the supplies and bottle of wine were very much appreciated, Thank you. Excellent location in central Kington, on the Black and White houses trail and with lots of great walks in the surrounding countryside.

Cons: Everything was perfect - though it took me a while to work the taps in the shower (Lol)

Pros: Very central location. Everything needed was provided. Great mirrors in the bathrooms.

Suited our purposes very well.

Pros: Secure, convenient parking. Close to shops when required. Well appointed, comfortable and clean appt.

Cons: More storage for provisions would have useful.

Pros: The accommodation was excellent, perfect location for our needs.

Cons: It said there was a mop and brush in the communal area but we couldn't find them so we were unable to tidy up the downstairs hallway.

Pros: A lovely stylish apartment right in the middle of a lovely little town. It was spotless and the secure parking was very much appreciated. Phoebe the landlord’s agent was very helpful and promptly answered my inquiries.

Cons: Honestly? The lack of a cafetière. 😄 Even that turned out to be a positive as the the lovely couple who run the Number 25 deli actually lent us one. I’ve never felt so middle class! 😄
