Classy, comfortable and fantastic price.
Pros: Pen y coed hall is simply fabulous. It is a luxurious combination of old building, new decor, artwork, high class furniture and first class breakfast. We were not fussed over but knew where to contact our hosts. The hall is quiet and oozes class and style. Rooms are massive, but warm and cosy. Very clean and well maintained.
Cons: Hard to think of anything.

Pros: Lovely scenery & location, the room was large and decorated to a good standard. The bathroom was clean as was the room. The bed was comfortable & bedding was nice and warm. For breakfast, there was a reasonable selection. We enjoyed the one night we stayed. We spoke briefly with Mark the host when we arrived. There were some lovely interesting touches to make the room homely.
Cons: The bathroom was cold. There was no hot water in the bathroom sink. The bathroom extractor fan did not work. The curtain did not draw closed properly, so the outside light shone into the room, however it said new curtain tracks were to be installed to hold the heavy curtains. The brass door lock did not lock from inside the room.

Excellent
Pros: Beautiful scenic location, nearby small quaint town. Room was very well equipped with comfortable bed, sofas and a TV, dining table, chairs and bowls, plates, and cutlery, and a nice variety of items (cereal and porridge, pre-packaged pastries, welsh cakes, bread, jam and butter, yoghurts, fruit, orange juice and milk) for a continental breakfast. The bathroom was basic with a good, warm shower, and the supplied bathrobes were a cosy extra. Parking was easy outside the hotel. Check in was very quick and straightforward with keys left in the entrance way. Check out was similarly straightforward.
Cons: The room was a little chilly to start with, but we turned the radiators up high when we checked in and were warm with the dressing gowns whilst watching TV and with the extra blanket in bed.

Very enjoyable stay, with very nice owners indeed. Would return.
Pros: Owners very nice and friendly. Offered a warm breakfast as well as the continental which was most welcome. Room was big, very quirky place indeed, not the usual premier inn all the same rooms type. Parking is good, private and off the beaten track so no theft worries. Only one night for us but was very nice.
Cons: Our main concern was the temperature of the room, felt very cold and also draughty when the wind blew outside. Totally accept the room is large and the house is an old traditional hall so insulation is going to be poor. And also it was December so may be completely different in the summer months. However we struggled to get the room warmed up particularly first thing in the morning, bfast and check out etc, was a cold experience. Bear in mind that this is the character of the house, so adds to the authenticity of past times. Don't be put off staying here, it was a nice experience overall.

Great room, very quirky, plenty of parking and breakfast is a great touch.
Pros: Lovely room with en-suite bathroom, sofa and breakfast provided. Very comfortable bed. We overlaid and they were very lovely and let us stay an extra hour. Great location for my work. Decor is very different and makes it.
Cons: Not the easiest place to find in the dark but we managed it ok in the end.
