Lovely place if you can find it

Pros: The lodge was lovely and well equiped with fantastic views

Cons: It was very difficult to find, we rang the contact mobile at least 3 times and no one answered or called us back later, we emailed and asked them to ring us but nothing. Eventually we did find it, the entrance just looked like the entrance to a field with no sign or directions to say what it was. There was a very muddy and slippy up hill track to get to it which the car couldnt get up. When we got to the door no sign to confirm it was the right place. Inside the hallway we couldnt get in so had to go around the back and look in the window to work out that we had to slide the bolt across. Surely it wouldnt be that difficult to leave a note telling us how to get in.

Beautiful stay and wish I could have stayed longer!

Pros: Everything. Well equipped kitchen, iron, extra heaters for the colder days/nights were a great touch! It’s a nice spacious property. I loved it! If you arrive at night the path to the property is well lit. The little cuddle chair reading corner was perfect to enjoy a book. I can imagine the decking and garden would be fantastic in the summer months. Lovely hosts, overall hard to fault. See next para for more info.

Cons: The only issue I had was the entrance gate drive which the owner had warned me about because the recent weather had eroded it and it’s quite steep. I’m in a van so I was able to reverse up which required a bit of skill. But that will be rectified for future guests I am told. Also if you aren’t confident driving single track lanes this property won’t be for you. The hosts don’t deserve to get negative feedback for this because it is supposed to be a quiet tucked away retreat. There was absolutely nothing I didn’t like though about this stay, be warned you need good study footwear to get up the hill (walking boots or wellies) but I promise it is so WORTH IT when you get up there!! The only regret I had was I hadn’t booked a couple of extra nights and would have loved to have stayed longer.

Lovely property, great views.

Pros: The view was lovely, it was nice and quiet & had everything you could need. We really appreciated the 11am check out.

Cons: Took us a while to figure out all the switches. Maybe a little guide would be useful.

Pros: After the loss of my only daughter I needed some space, wilderness Lodge was so quiet and calm, it was so peaceful and with everything there that I could want the whole experience was fabulous, the sunrise was stunning , what a little gem it is .

Cons: The walk up the hill ( but that was the snow )

Perfect serenity

Pros: This property is amazing and makes the most of the beautiful scenery it is in the middle of I loved it and cannot wait to come back

Fabulous hidey hole

Pros: The lodge was very remote and totally peaceful. The views were amazing, we could see the sunrise from the bed. The lodge was clean, warm and comfortable with everything we needed for a very relaxing Christmas. There was amazing walks from the door and in the surrounding areas. We had to contact the hosts about the Internet as it wasn't connected, but they sorted it out in good time. Their response was very good.

Amazing little break away, beautiful location. Will definitely be planning to return some point in the upcoming year!

Pros: The views in the morning were beautiful, the property was well laid out and had everything we needed. We got to meet two of the horses as well which was nice!

Cons: The only thing I can say in regard to this is the flooring in the kitchen where it bows in a little, this could do with fixing, it did nearly cause me to slip over (did get a laugh out of it though so not too bothered). It also seemed that the pipes to the bathroom tap was the wrong way round so that when turned to hot it was cold and when it was turned to cold it was hot. Can’t say that any of these things made me dislike the property though. We loved it.

Great little get away for a long weekend

Pros: Lovely place to stay, the horses come over and say hello and its so peaceful

Pros: Excellent property - great location, very relaxing and we had a fab time

Peace and tranquility

Pros: Hidden location with exceptional views. Very peaceful. Everything you need for a few nights away. Enclosed garden area which was lovely for the dog to be able to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air. Amazing sunrises.

Cons: The only downside for me was the steep hill up to the property from the parking space. Not advisable for anyone with mobility issues.
