Pros: We had a really enjoyable short stay here, despite the awful weather. The home was warm and a nice place to be with a fun vibe and decoration and we all really loved it. We'd love to return in the summer months when i imagine everything about this property would be wonderful.
Cons: There's a sign on the window asking that shoes aren't worn indoors, which we respected and left our shoes at the door. I'm sure this is fine in the summer, but by crikes, despite the electric heating working really well to quickly warm the property the floor was icy cold, so slippers are recommended in the winter months. The cooker was also very oily inside, and with no extractor fan, the lounge very quickly filled up with smoke from the oven when we cooked dinner.

Great for a few nights away in the countryside.
Pros: Helpful owner, nice interior design. Great for a couple of nights away from the world. Soon warms up if you have to use the heating.
Cons: Didn’t realise one of the double bedrooms is completely separate from the building and involves walking outside. It has no toilet so if you need to go in the night you have to come out and cross a short walk to the main building. Not great if it’s pouring with rain. Some attention to details is needed, lights that don’t work, plants that need attention or removed. Lots of little black flies in the shower. The photos were clearly taken when it was originally set up. Needs owner to come and stay a night to see what areas need attention to bring it back up to its full potential.

Spacious and comfortable
Pros: Great location to explore Hay-on-Wye. Very private location. If you love looking at the stars while having a bath, this is the place for you. Spacious and comfortable, so much so that we came back from Hay a little earlier than planned, just to be able to lounge and read all the books we had bought. Hosts quick and easy to communicate with.

Fab weekend
Pros: We had a great stay at the Deckhouse. Perfect location for visiting Hay on Wye, and a lovely place to stay and relax for the weekend. The host was very quick to respond to any queries and we couldn't fault the place. We were sad to leave!

A nice little hideaway at a reasonable price. With a few tweaks
Pros: Great view. Nicely curated space .... bathroom is fab. Shower was great. Good location for nearby Hay on Wye.
Cons: It was freezing cold when we arrived with no heating on, not very welcoming. Mattress on double bed was concave and very uncomfortable. Unable to get TV to work, no instructions. No extractor in kitchen which isn't great in an open plan space. Decking needs maintenance. A lot of barking dogs in adjacent property.

Lovely, comfy well equipped, would like to stay again.
Pros: Comfortable and stylish. Well equipped. Parking and only 15 minutes from Hay-On-Wye. Lots of natural light and also heats up very quickly. The owner was also very responsive, which was great.
Cons: The bedroom accessed via a walkway. It’s only moments from the house but the walkway isn’t covered and the rain was biblical.

Would highly recommend this property. A relaxing weekend with old friends in secluded location
Pros: Very quiet location, Lovely decor and comfortable beds and bedding. Welcoming tea/coffee etc Very clean . Good local info booklets . Very reasonable price .
Cons: The directions were not that easy to follow and the sign To the chalet was small and faint and covered in vegetation. Twin bedded room very dark . Needed more toilet rolls . Decking needs repairing .
