Lovely stay in a historic old hotel

Pros: The hotel is old which gave it its charm and one of the reasons we chose it. Room was spacious and comfortable, very clean and the staff were lovely. Food was very good and so was the beer.

Cons: It was a few of the coldest days of the year, and we keep our home hot, but being an old building it was a little chilly at times.

The most lovely host (Martin).

Pros: Martin was the most lovely, kind host and so helpful. He made us feel so welcome. He is a real treasure. The apartment was clean, comfy and warm. Perfect in fact!

Very happy with the hotel. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Room was comfortable and fresh.

Pros: Second time staying here first time in the main hotel. This time we was shown to our room over the road which puzzled me as it looked like a garage. But I must admit was a brilliant room and very cozy and comfortable would deffo rebook and select that room again 👍🏻

Cons: The only thing I could have maybe asked for was the water a little hotter in the shower but it was manageable at the max setting

Most pleasurable

Pros: Lovely room with 4 poster bed overlooking the garden area . Great fire in bar area and whole hotel very warm also sampled Sunday carvery which was very tasty

Pros: In an excellent location with complimentary car parking, our room was well equipped. The staff were friendly and courteous, even when we reported that the hairdryer in the room had exploded when plugged in.

Cons: I felt that the breakfast was so-so, the delicious fresh fruit salad was offset by pre-packed pastries and somewhat dried out cold-cuts. Similarly the thoughtful cookies in the room were also a mismatch for the single--serving Nescafé pouches. And while I understand that the hotel would prefer that one eats in their restaurant for dinner, I think our request for external recommendations could have been met with a bit more knowledge/kindness.
