Excellent value at a time when hotels are at a premium during RWS Winter Fair.

Pros: 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Great place to stay for work in Builth Wells. The bar has great food and good beer. The staff are super friendly. There's a communal area for making tea & coffee and even cook if you want. Diolch yn fawr.

Cons: Not ensuite.

Fantastic value, good food, great location and lovely staff.

Pros: You cannot argue with the value of this stay. My friend and I were having a couple of days riding our motorbikes in mid Wales. We just needed somewhere to get our heads down. The room was basic, but reasonably clean and the beds were pretty comfortable. The pub is very pleasant and the food was good and was also decent value. The communal areas weren’t especially clean, but I’m not going to moan too much for £35 per night each.

Cons: Some of the communal areas needed a good clean, particularly the bathroom.

Stopped for one night on a motorcycle tour around wales. Great location, tidy clean rooms and friendly staff. Perfect 👌🏼

Great Stop on Our Trip

Pros: We were a group of 5 cycling through the area. Very happy to recommend this place to stay. It was more than adequate for our needs. The absolute highlight was the attentive, friendly, banter-filled hospitality from the whole team - Vlad could not do enough for us, James was very helpful and kind, Laura looked after us in the evening and Wyn sorted a great breakfast for our 8 hour ride! The place was comfortable and quiet - the beds were comfortable although some may find them a little soft. Evening food was standard pub-grub but very nicely done. Great value. Many thanks

Great pub stay in pretty Rhayader in the upper Wye Valley.

Pros: Very friendly pub with good ale and excellent food in the evening. staff were very helpful with finding somewhere to store our bikes overnight and could have charged up the e-bike if required. A 'breakfast bar' with tea/coffee facilities and a sink in the corridor was an unexpected bonus.

Cons: The beds were a bit noisy, but very comfortable, and having cycled round the Elan Valley loop we had no trouble sleeping! It would have been good to know that breakfast was available before we made alternative arrangements.

Pros: Lovely location right in the heart of Rhayader. Great staff and very clean. Great area for cooking and preparing food but nowhere to sit and eat it. Room was basic but comfy .
