Pros: Called the host and she explained where keys were, and where to park
Cons: There was one issue with the apartment but the host contacted me straight away when I flagged this up. It could not be solved that week but hopefully has been solved since. Host was very communicative and called as soon as I highlighted the issue

Excellent apartment and stay. Would recommend and revisit.
Pros: The apartment was very spacious more so than was thought from the photos. It is decorated well and is very clean. It included everything needed for our week away and the bedroom at the end of the apartment overlooked the beach and ocean so you could lie on the bed and relax with the view or sit in the tub chairs by the window. All shops, cafes, restaurants, arcades with small fair, beach, bus stop and train station are an extremely close and in walking distance.
Cons: The only thing to note that wasn’t a dislike actually, but if you are a light sleeper you may need earplugs especially on the warmer nights if you wish for the windows to be open. It can be quite noisy from the train station barrier alarm and train horn which is just over the road to the apartment. Trucks and vans also doing deliveries to the shops, mainly those keeping the fridges running outside. However this didn’t cause a problem for our stay.

Very comfortable but with some drawbacks
Pros: The apartment is very comfortable, nicely decorated. Comfortable beds, although the bed in bedroom 1 is very high. Lovely white bed linen, nice white towels. The lounge area is very nice and we were happy to spend some time there on one day when the weather was particularly bad. Netflix available. We didn’t see the owner, Tami, but when I spoke to her on the phone she was very friendly and helpful. We came back from a day out to find a bag of ‘goodies’ from the rock shop on the doorstep, which was very nice. Barmouth is a very good location from which to do road trips exploring the area. There are lots of interesting places to visit in this part of Wales.
Cons: The location isn’t great, being in the centre of town, and is very noisy from traffic and footfall. Also opposite the train station but with not many trains during the day this wasn’t a particular problem. I guess the noise would have been less noticeable with the windows closed but it was hot while we were there so it was either roast like a turkey or put up with the noise ….. The one big disappointment was the lack of equipment in the kitchen, mainly crockery and cutlery. There was not sufficient of either to cater for the number of people the apartment sleeps. It was as though the owner had cobbled together a mish mash of crockery surplus to requirements in her own kitchen. It would not cost much to go to one of the home bargain stores and buy some nice matching crockery and cutlery sets that would make a huge difference and make clients feel as though they matter. The concept of self catering is to be able to self cater. Also, in an apartment for 4 people there are only 3 dining chairs. Another negative was the stair lift on the staircase which made the stairs difficult to negotiate, especially at the top. The bathroom is very nicely fitted and decorated but lacks either shelves or a free standing vanity unit to use for toiletries etc. No hairdryer. No information booklet available giving emergency telephone numbers etc, and no fire and evacuation procedures. All this sounds very negative but I hope the owner, Tami, sees it as constructive feedback.
