Generally a good stay, for our needs.

Pros: Location to Tretower. Landlady extremely friendly and hospitable.

Cons: Room layout, very small basin separate from toilet/shower. No toiletries i.e. shower gel/soap. An alternative room was offered but would have meant a separate bathroom across the corridor which was less convenient for night emergencies.

Pros: A wonderful welcome from Julia, the landlady. Explaining everything and generally being warm and engaging. The pub serves wonderful beer and wine. Our room was clean and comfortable. It had a direct view towards the hill we later climbed. The pub is warm, it has a pool table and serves tasty food all day from noon.

Cons: .

Pros: We came to Wales for a walking holiday to see the black mountains and the beautiful landscape of the brecons as a massive bonus we discovered a humble welsh pub endearly loved and run by a warm down to earth couple. Our room was simplicity. The mattress liked a bed of cotton after a long day of mountain hiking. The shower gave a massage, and the temperature was perfect to ease those knackered muscles. Our breakfast was delicious local bacon and pork from the butchers piles of toast and refill of tea coffee juice. Dinner was steak pie and a mountain of creamy mash. I think they were pretty impressed by my appetite This wonderful place is for those who are down to earth and appreciate simplicity, seeking rest quietness and home cooked food, and a good night's sleep. Our lovely hosts couldn't do enough for us always going out their way. It was amazing. Thank you both ❀️ Andy and Monika

Perfect.

Pros: It’s a beautiful location. The proprietors were amazingly helpful and friendly - couldn’t do enough to make us welcome and meet our needs. They definitely went the extra mile. Great coffee too.

Cons: They are in the process of upgrading the buildings and I cannot wait to see what they achieve. It’s not currently very glamorous, but clean and comfy.

Excellent hosts who care about their visitors.

Pros: The breakfasts on offer were good but the portion sizes were large. I don,t eat wheat and gluten and this was catered for well. Julie and Ray were very helpful and keen to make my stay enjoyable.

Cons: Not a lot really.
