A treat near Brecon

Pros: We had a wonderful visit to the Brecon area. Staying at The Draen was a treat. Found at the end of a lovely single track road, the 400-year old house is beautiful. We were greeted and made welcome by Sue, a very jovial host. Llanfilo is very handy as a base for seeing the area. Our room was very good, clean and comfortable. Sue told us of the nearly 1000-year old church in the village (well worth a visit). Breakfast was beautifully cooked and presented and very enjoyable. Some items were locally sourced. There are amazing views from the house and the fields that belong to the house. It was an excellent stay. I would recommend it to anyone. We may well return to stay again.

Cons: Nothing. All wonderful.

Warm, cosy, clean and delicious!

Pros: Love this place! Cosy cottage, room is quiet with a comfy bed and spacious. Loved having the bath in my room rather than just a shower. Sue was friendly and helpful when I arrived on a very rainy night and the breakfast was absolutely delicious! Will definitely be back!

Cons: Nothing!

Hidden Gem

Pros: Very clean, spacious, comfortable room. Breakfast was probably the best I ever had in the UK. Sue and Johny are great hosts. Very quiet and peaceful place for work and also could offer amazing walks if you want to explore the area.

2 night stay at The Draen

Pros: The host Sue was lovely and made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was excellent you could choose the night before.

Cons: The pillows were uncomfortable but I am quite fussy about my pillows! Luckily the weather was on our side but accommodation would have been hard to get to if it had been snowing.

Pros: A very quaint place to stay. It was exactly what you might expect staying in a guesthouse on an old farm in the welsh countryside. We spent one night with our two older teenage children. It was quiet and clean, and breakfast was a feast!
