Lovely restored stately home

Pros: Beautiful building and surroundings, cozy communal spaces.

Cons: Often reception didn’t answer the phone, bed linen could have been higher quality for the standard of the hotel. The lighting in the room could have been warmer and make it feel cosier in the room.

superb hotel and staff

Pros: Grounds and setting hotel decor lovely friendly staff sculpures and art exhibition lovely food

Cons: bed in turret room was too soft and kept falking into the middle

Overall a pleasant week end

Pros: The restaurant was fabulous. The breakfast was excellent. The bed was extremely comfortable.

Cons: Did think the lack of curtains in the suite's lounge was an annoyance. Also the lack of a door closer on the bathroom adjacent to to the Westminster Suite was an annoyance. I do not think the check-in process was appropriate. My wife did not need to be party to the charges for the stay. It was a surprise treat for her. Financial details are to be kept between the receptionist and the bill payer.
