A lovely hotel, very central with a great atmosphere.
Pros: The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming, and whilst the hotel itself isn’t particularly large, it had a lovely cosy but contemporary feel (we visited at the end of November so it was in the Christmas theme). The bar and dining area were really inviting and well staffed - it’s obviously popular with locals. Our eventual room had everything we needed and was quiet, despite partially overlooking the main road. The bed was very comfortable and there was a lovely powerful shower. Breakfast was absolutely delicious with plenty of choice - we’d stay again!
Cons: As we arrived a little early our room wasn’t ready. When we returned later our superior room had been given to someone with supposed mobility issues, (none of the rooms are on the ground floor and there’s no lift!) The only 2 superior rooms left overlooked enormous, very noisy extractor fans above the kitchen, constantly, emitting strong food smells. We ended up having to downgrade our room to a much smaller but quieter one but no refund was offered for the cost difference.

Just amazing, such friendly staff
Pros: Great staff Great food Nothing was too much for the staff to ask for Great room, stayed 2 nights and both rooms were great and also very clean.
Cons: That somebody took the loft room for the first night of the stay before me 😂

A beautiful hotel in lovely Shrewsbury which is so warm and welcoming
Pros: A gorgeous overnight stay in this very comfortable, welcoming hotel. Well appointed cosy room, lovely & warm in deepest January (in fact had to turn the radiator right down!), had more than everything we needed. Really comfortable bed and pillows. Enjoyed time in the lounge/bar area, beautiful breakfast. Had 3 rooms booked, all excellent. Very friendly helpful staff. Loved the feel of the hotel, olde worlde charm with excellent facilities. Great location to explore lovely Shrewsbury.
Cons: Slightly noisy outside room 12 overnight from something coming out of the kitchen we think. Not a big problem at all though.

Comfortable and relaxing location for exploring this charming town
Pros: Lots of cosy public areas to relax and mix. Comfortable warm bedroom - lovely bath. Great breakfast and bistro was a great choice for evening meals - interesting and tasty.
Cons: Sunday evening meal was traditional Sunday lunch - bit heavy for us - the Bistro and restaurant choices on previous evening were excellent
