Y Talbot

Nestled in the Cambrian Mountains in the heart of Tregaron, Y Talbot is a welcoming and award-winning hotel, restaurant and pub full of Welsh charm, roaring fires and some of the best food in the region. Head Chef Dafydd Watkin has cooked with Marco Pierre White and now cooks the food he wants to eat – comforting, confident, and dangerously moreish. His cheesecake? Local legend. We’re proud to be fully accessible, with step-free entrances, a ground-floor accessible bedroom, and thoughtful touches throughout. Families are welcome, dogs are fussed over, and muddy boots are part of the dress code. Our smooth tarmac car park, secure bike storage and drying room make us an ideal stop for motorcyclists and cyclists, while walkers and anglers love the peaceful location, local trails and full Welsh breakfast that follows. Whether you’re here for a quiet break, an outdoor adventure or simply want a good meal with a warm welcome, we promise you’ll leave with a full belly and a smile. Our staff know your name (and your dog’s), and our bar is often the start of stories you’ll retell for years. Real Wales, real food, real hospitality.

Lovely relaxing stay with good staff and good

Pros: Extremely friendly staff and a very nice room too. Food was great as well - lovely breakfast and evening meals very tasty.

Cons: I’m not sure if the room was supposed to be serviced on a 2 night stay but it wasn’t . Not an issue as we are fairly tidy anyway and there was enough tea and coffee to keep us going.

Pros: We had a wonderful stay. The accommodation was superb — comfortable, clean, and very well maintained. The staff were friendly and the open fires- amazing at this time of the year. The food was outstanding, and the breakfast was excellent. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend this hotel.

Pros: Excellent breakfast and very good choice of options for dinner, All beautifully presented and cooked.I booked

Cons: I booked online and selected a double room with single beds. Room was too small and offered few refinements: s poor choice on my part. The ensuite shower was adequate but the extractor fan failed to live up to expectations so condensation was an issue.

Excellent good value overnight stay in Tregaron

Pros: Right in the heart of Tregaron. Plenty of parking outside. Warm welcome. Quiet room and comfortable bed. Delicious bag of biscuits and high quality teas, coffees both decaff and caffinated. Plenty of sachets of milk too. Breakfast in the morning was the best. Delicious local sausages and thick back bacon. Scrambled egg as it should be. I will definately be back and bring friends too.
