Pros: The hosts were very attentive, fantastic suggestions for local activities and very warm and welcoming. The view from the property is stunning, especially sitting out in the evening looking out over the fields and hills.

Pros: Beautiful location, wonderful views, Lovely, clean family run hotel. Friendly owners and staff Excellent food, both evening and breakfast. Used by locals which is always a positive mark Bedroom warm, clean, comfortable with all facilities Dogs welcome too! Great overnight stay, perfect for visiting showground at Builth Wells, 20 minutes away Would definitely recommend

Overnight Stay

Pros: The hotel provided tea, coffee, biscuits and all toiletries along with some additional extras. We could help ourselves to cereal and yoghurt and had a full english breakfast with toast and coffee. The hotel also serve evening meals at a reasonable cost.

Cons: The noise from the bar below could be heard in our room until the bar area closed, although the hotel supply ear plugs.

Beautiful, friendly and highly recommend

Pros: The owners and staff were fantastic, friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious both for the evening meal and breakfast. Stunning views looking out and if we had time to explore we would have as it was located in lovely countryside. The owners even pre-warned us of a darts competition taking place at their venue the night we were coming and offered us to cancel free of charge. However, the atmosphere from it was very nice and everyone was having fun.

A lovely short break in a small friendly and welcoming traditional hotel in the countryside.

Pros: The Lion Hotel is a lovely small traditional hotel set in a small peaceful village in a beautiful valley. Ray and Janet are very kind hosts, eager to help, and the rest of the staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is clearly the centre for social activities for the surrounding area, and locals were friendly and welcoming. The food was good, and breakfasts excellent. It was a great base for a couple of days break and to do some walking in the Radnorshire hills.

Great accommodation, food & hosts

Pros: Breakfast was delicious and the evening meal even better. Evening meal is optional but very highly recommended. We had the vegetarian option on both nights (lasagne & curry). Everything beautifully cooked and plenty of it.

Cons: Nothing could have been better.

Great overnight stopover

Pros: Lovely period property, located in beautiful area. Great food and hospitality from the owners. We were made to feel very welcome with our dog. Would definitely stay again

Pros: Traditional, very welcoming family run small hotel. Very nicely decorated, clean and tidy rooms with gorgeous views across the river valley.

Pros: Lovely atmosphere in a beautiful setting. We arrived on a Friday night and the pub was busy but everyone was really friendly and welcoming. The food was great. We both had a curry. We would definitely go back.

Cons: Nothing. It was perfect first what we wanted.
