Lovely pub with great food and comfy beds

Pros: We chose to stay here because we liked the menu available and it didn't disapoint. The food was excellent, both dinner and breakfast and it is definitely a great place to eat in if you're in the area. The beds were comfortable and it was very quiet given we were above the pub, but the rooms are a bit dated and the bathroom didn't feel spick and span. Everything was clean, but it just felt a bit used. In the second bedroom it felt like a wardrobe had been placed there as they didn't know where else to put it, which meant it blocked one of the lamps and gave no light to the bed in the corner. Also the walls are paper thin and we could hear everything next door when we were standing in the bathroom (and they us!). It was great value for money for a night and we slept really well.

Cons: I think the rooms and bathrooms could do with a freshen up. It just feels like it was last decorated in the 90s to look traditional and it could be utterly stunning if done up.

Great place to stay

Pros: Lovely pub, great vibe, great old building of winding corridors to the bedrooms. Staff were very welcoming. Would definitely stay again.

Cons: The bedroom we stopped in was very dusty and cobwebby. The shower screen and grout in shower could of been a lot cleaner. Beds were comfy though.

Pros: Location was excellent, staff were friendly and efficient. Room was good the squeaky floors you get used to. All in all a great weekend with live music on Saturday. I would recommend.
